And he has conducted major studies in biocorrosion, reservoir souring, the bioremediation of hazardous wastes, the microbial ecology of petroleum reservoirs, biorestoration of contaminated sites, biodegradation of high molecular weight organic compounds and oil spill responses.

Through his federal and private sector work experience, Mr. Boron has been instrumental in promoting scientific advancements that have led to successful commercial ventures in biotechnology, chemical technology, and fossil fuel processing. In his current capacity, Mr. Boron is a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). He also serves on the Federal Executive Institute Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Microbial enhanced oil recovery laboratory is a professional research organization of China national petroleum corporation (CNPC). It is a crucial session of laboratory of microbial EOR. The laboratory subordinates to Lang Fang branch of scientific research institute of petroleum exploration and development, Institute of Porous Flow arm Fluid Mechanics.
