Xiamen is situated on the southeast coast of China to the west of the Taiwan straits. It covers an area of 1,565 square kilometers with six districts and a population of 2.43 million. It was one of the earliest ports opened to foreign trade in Chinese history and is still an important window to foreign exchange today. Xiamen is also known as the hometown of many of the Chinese people living abroad. Over 400,000 of the Chinese people living in other countries are of Xiamen descent.

Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center is connected to a large exhibition hall which includes services for exhibitions, conferences and warehouses. It is a large scale modern exhibition center with a total area of 230,000 square meters, 80,000 square meters of this constitute the Exhibition Hall. The Exhibition Hall can host 4000 standard exhibition booths and more than 20 conference rooms. Since September 2000 the center has successfully held more than 100 international and national exhibitions, and has won widespread recognition both at home and abroad.
