BIT's 1st Annual World Congress of Diabetes 2012 (WCD 2012), held in Beijing International Convention Center, Beijing, China from June 15-17, 2012 has gained great success. The theme of the conference was "From Molecules to Public Health". Many Keynote Speakers and a lot of Renowned Speakers from many countries attended this conference.

Many honored guests have made the wonderful presentations at the opening ceremony including: Dr. Bob Elliott, Chairman, On behalf of Diatranz Otsuka Ltd, New Zealand; Dr. Riccardo Perfetti, Vice President, Global Medical Affairs, Diabetes Division, Sanofi-Aventis, France; Dr. Geoffrey W. Guy, Chairman, G.W. Pharmaceuticals, UK; Dr. Eric Wu, Managing Principal, Vice President, Analysis Group Inc., USA; Dr. Alexander Fleming, President and Chief Executive Officer, Kinexum LLC, USA.

There were 6 tracks following the Opening Ceremony covering topics in fields including: Global Trend, Epidemiology, Prevention and Public Health; Diabetes Complication Syndromes and Management; Molecular Diabetology and Clinical Medicine; Drug Discovery of Diabetes; Diagnostics, Medical Devices and Clinical Practice; Healthy Nutrition and Functional Foods and Chinese Traditional Medicine.

After the conference many participants expressed their satisfaction with the content of the congress and had fine memories of Beijing. We believe that the next conference (WCD-2013) will be even better with the support and constructive suggestions.
