BIT’s 1st World Congress of Bioenergy (WCBE-2011), successfully held in Dalian World Expo Center on April 25-30, 2011. Totally, there were nearly 400 participants from more than 36 countries and areas have attended the WCBE-2011.
As the keynote speakers, Dr. Robert C. Richardson, The Nobel Prize Laureate in Physics 1996, Professor, Senior Vice Provost for Research, Cornell University, USA; Dr. Paul Bryan, Program Manager, Office of the Biomass Program , U.S. Department of Energy, USA; Dr. Al Bryant, Vice President and General Manager, Boeing Research & Technology, China; Dr. Wesley J. Bolsen, Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Government Affairs, Coskata, Inc., USA and Mr. Thomas A. Byrne, CPA, President and CEO, Byrne & Company, Limited, USA made excellent presentations and warmly discussed with the audiences at keynote forum.
35 sessions covered 8 fields including Policy, Economy and Regluatory for Next Generation Bioenergy, Breaking Research and Advanced Biofuel Technologies, Resource Assessment and Sustainable Production of Feedstock, Bioethanol and Next Generation Bioalcohol, Finance, Strategic Planning, Industrialization and Commercialization, Biogases, Bioprocess Development and Engineering Perspectives for Bioenergy, Biodiesel and so on. With the mission to initiate a sustainable platform for exchanging up-to-the-minute upstream and downstream achievements, industrial needs and research opportunities of industrial biotechnology fields in Asia Pacific Rim, participants from academic, industrial professionals and key-decision makers delivered the new achievement on their research, together discussed and analyzed the development of Bioenergy. The conference has promoted the communication of colleagues and collaboration of partners from the upstream to the downstream of Bioenergy.
Depending on the warmly support and good suggestions from all of the participants, we are confident in organizing WCBE-2012 which would be better and more successful than WCBE-2011.
