On November 3-5, 2011, BIT’s 1st Annual Symposium of Drug Delivery Systems 2011 was held successfully in Shenzhen, China. As the keynote speakers, Dr. Ralph Lipp, Vice President, Pharmaceutical Sciences R&D, Eli Lilly and Company, USA; Dr. Riccardo Panicucci, Global Head, Novartis, Switzerland, Mr. Qinggang Luo, Head, Drug Delivery System Division in 3M, China, Dr. Peter D. Noymer, Vice President, Product R&D, Alexza Pharmaceuticals, Inc., USA and Dr. Helmut Bender, Vice President, Respiratory Drug Delivery, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH & Co. KG, Germany made excellent presentations and warmly discussed with the audiences at keynote forum.
Totally, there were nearly 400 participants from more than 28 countries and areas have attended the SDDS-2011. 21 sessions covered 5 fields including Global Market Trend, Regulatory Issues, Quality Control, Business Development and Strategic Planning for Patient Centered of Drug Delivery, Breaking Research and Technologies of DDS, Current Innovative DDS for Treating Major Diseases, Medical Devices for Effective Drug Delivery, Nanotech for Drug Delivery and so on.
As one of the key issue within the drug discovery fields, drug delivery poses questions and challenges both to the development of new treatment and the mechanisms with which to administer them. Now pharmaceutical companies are turning to their focus on developing effective and targeted drug delivery systems, to transform disease treatments. Participants from industry leaders, professors, policy makers, investors and researchers to provide unique insights into evolving governmental policies, breakthrough technologies and investment strategies in this growing field. The conference has promoted the communication of colleagues and collaboration of partners from the upstream to the downstream of Drug Delivery Systems.
