PepCon2013

The 6th Annual Protein and Peptide Conference (PepCon-2013) was held in Suzhou, China, March 21-23, 2013. The foras hosted by Information Research Center of International Talents, SAFEA, Suzhou Personnel Work Leading Group Office, Suzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and China Medicinal Biotech Association under the theme of “Discovery, Translation, and Industrialization”. The conference sessions focused on Proteomics, Protein Sciences and Study Methods, Protein Analysis and Separation, Protein Design and Engineering, Protein and Diseases, Proteins in Drug Discovery and Development, and Peptide Technologies and Business Development. It provided the opportunity for experts and newcomers to the field to discuss the particular challenges presented by those assays, addressing both technical issues and the theoretical considerations for future strategies. The conference reflected that the protein and peptide were having an important impact on the industry and society.

Dr. Wenyan (David) Shen, VP, Global Head of Biologics Development, Teva Pharmaceuticals, USA; Dr. David O'Connor, Professor, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, China; Dr. Alexander (Allen) Krantz, President, CEO, Advanced Proteome Therapeutics Inc., USA; Dr. Hans-Joachim Bohm, Global Chemistry Head, Center Manager for R&D, Roche, Switzerland; Mr. Lin Zhu, Senior Market Development Specialist, AB SCIEX, China attended the opening ceremony and the Keynote Forum. With more than 300 participants the 3-day forum including the Forum for Chinese Scientists, Matchmaking and Exhibition proved to be the most important gathering for experts in protein and peptide field. It was also seen as an influential step for deepening the understanding from China and the world.

A further event covering the most comprehensive topics will be held in April 2014. We cordially hope that more cooperation could be realized in future.

BIT's 5th Anniversary Protein and Peptide Conference (PepCon-2012), held in Beijing International Convention Center, Beijing, China from March 23-25, 2012 has gained great success.
