Beijing is located in the north of China, where the climate is temperate and humid.It is home to the Peking Man, one of the earliest human species that existed some 500,000 years ago. Historic records and archeological findings prove that as a city, Beijing dates back to more than 3,000 years ago. As the capital city of the People's Republic of China, Beijing is the nation's political and cultural center and also a center for international contacts, where People of all China's 56 ethnic groups are found.

The Forbidden City ( Imperial Palace )  
The largest and most complete imperial palace and ancient building complex in China, and the world at large.
It was designated by the State Council as one of China 's foremost protected monuments in 1961, and then listed by UNESCO as one of World Cultural Heritage in 1987.
Twenty-four emperors from the Ming and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties lived and ruled China there.

Tian'anmen Square
Tian'anmen Square is one of the largest city squares in the world. Tian'anmen was built in 1417 and was the entrance gate to the Forbidden City . Now the square stretches 880 meters from north to south and 500 meters from east to west. The total area is 440,000 square meters.

The Temple of Heaven
The Temple of Heaven, the largest group of temple buildings in China, was constructed in southeast Beijing in 1420. It is known for its striking architectural beauty. There the emperors of the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties held ceremonies to worship heaven .

The Summer Palace
Yi He Yuan, or the Summer Palace, is the best-kept existing royal garden in Beijing . With a concentration of the best of ancient buildings as well as styles of gardening, it is a virtual museum of traditional Chinese garden.

Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses

The Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. Tang Dynasty Dinner Show

The Tang Dynasty Dinner Show, a performance of Chang'an music and dance originated in China's Tang Dynasty over a thousand years ago. It has been recreated in accordance with various historical records as well as ancient art and relics discovered in Xi'an, the capital of the empire during the Tang Dynasty.

Hua Qing Hot Spring

Situated at the northern foot of Mt. Lishan in Lintong County, 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from Xi'an City, Huaqing Hot Spring is famed for both its dainty spring scenery and the romantic love story of Emperor Xuanzong (685-762) and his concubine Yang Guifei in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Its long history and location among the wonderful landscapes of Xi'an should entice any visitor to visit and bathe in this hot spring.

Banpo Museum

The Banpo Museum is located in the eastern outskirt of Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. As the first museum at the prehistoric site, it was built at the base of the excavations of the Banpo site. Since it opened to the public formally in 1958, two million people have visited it.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda

As the symbol of the old-line Xi'an, Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. It is located in the southern suburb of Xi'an City, about 4 kilometers (2.49 miles) from the downtown of the city. Standing in the Da Ci'en Temple complex, it attracts numerous visitors for its fame in the Buddhist religion, its simple but appealing style of construction, and its new square in front of the temple. It is rated as a National Key Cultural Relic Preserve as well as an AAAA Tourist Attraction.
