| On May 18-21, 2008, BIT 1st World Congress of ibio-2008 Focused Event for Industry Biotechnology was held successfully in Hangzhou, China. During the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Hailin Liu, the vice-director, China Medicinal Biotech Association, Dr. Libin Zhang, President of Zhejiang University of Technology, Ms. Kelly Wang on behalf of Dr, Xiaodan Mei, the Executive Chairman of this event deliver opening remarks and speech to all our participants.
As the keynote speakers, Dr. Nancy W. Y. Ho, Research Professor, School of Chemical Engineering, Purdue University, USA, Dr. James Zhang, VP of Business Development, Mendel Biotechnology, Inc. USA, Dr. Mizhou (Matthew ) Hui, Founder & Chief Scientific Officer of AmProtein Corporation, china., made excellent presentations and warmly discussed with the audiences at keynote forum,.
Totally, there were nearly 400 participants from more than 30 countries and areas have attended the ibio-2008. 26 sessions covered 8 fields including bio-energy, bio-medical, bio-environmental, bio-agriculture, bio-food and so on. With a theme of "New Starting Line for Decision Makers in Bio-economy Era", participants from academic, industrial professionals and key-decision makers delivered the new achievement on their research, together discussed and analysised the development of bio-industry. The conference has promoted the communication of colleagues and collaboration of partners from the upstream to the downstream of industrial biotechnology.
According to the investigation after the conference, over 70% participants expressed that they would like to attend ibio-2009. Depending on the warmly support and good suggestions from all of the participants, we are confident in organizing ibio-2009 which would be better and more successful than ibio-2008. |
