Molecular Diagnostics-2008 Achieved a Consummation

On October 22-24, 2008, BIT's 1st Annual Congress and Expo of Molecular Diagnostics (CEMD-2008) was held successfully in Beijing, China. During the Opening Ceremony, Dr. Xiaodan Mei, the Executive Chairman of this event delivered the opening remarks to welcome all our participants.
Totally, there were more than 200 participants from more than 30 countries and regions attended the openting ceremony of CEMD-2008. World leading companies in molecular diagnostics area, such as QIAGEN, Roche Diagnostics, ViaLogy, Agilent Technologies, MultiGEN Diagnostics, Sequenom, Beckman Coulter, Applied Biosystems, Celera Diagnostics, Ambion, Enigma Diagnostics, AltheaDx, etc joined us this time, too. With a theme of "Accurate and Early Diagnosis of Life-threatening Diseases", the conference consists of 16 sessions which are under 4 tracks including Frontiers of Technology Development, Molecular Diagnostics in Infectious Diseases, Molecular Diagnostics in Cancer, and Molecular Diagnostics in Major Human Diseases. Scientists, industrial professionals and key-decision makers delivered the new achievement on their research, together discussed and analyzed the development of molecular diagnostics research. Professionals of clinical laboratory department from the hospitals in China visited the exhibition and listened to the presentations. The conference provides an excellent platform for promoting the communications of colleagues and collaborations of partners from the upstream to the downstream of molecular diagnostics research.
After the main conference, nearly twenty participants enjoyed the tech-tour in the modern city of Beijing & the historical city of XiĄŻan and promoted intellectual exchanges and collaborations under a kind of cheerful atmosphere along the trip.
According to the investigations after the conference, over 70% participants expressed that they would like to attend CEMD-2009. Depending on the warmly support and good suggestions from all of the participants, we are confident in organizing CEMD -2009 which we believe would be better and more successful than CEMD -2008.
