BIT’s 3rd Annual World Congress of BioSoft-2011 was held successfully form March 23-25, 2011 in the China National Convention Center, Beijing, China. The theme of the conference was “Rising of Bio-IT”. Many world-renowned experts, professors, project leaders and representatives of well known organizations took part in the conference.
Lots of honored guests presented at the opening ceremony including: Dr. Dov Jaron,Calhoun Distinguished Professor, Drexel University, USA, Dr. Yuhwa Lo, Professor, University of California,USA, Dr. John L Higgins. President and Chief Executive Officer, Ligand Pharmaceuticals Incorporated, USA, Dr. Albert Yu, CEO, Hai Kang Life Corporation; Professor, Peking University, China.
There were 5 Symposiums following the ceremony covering many fields including: Robust Hardware and Software for Bio-industry, Bioinformatics and Predictive Biology, IT in Nanomedicine and Tissue Engineering, e-Solutions for Pharmaceutical Sciences, and e-Clnical Trials, e-Medicine and e-Health (e-CMH).
Through this conference participants had made new contacts and promote collaborations while also exchanged knowledge about the field of BioSoft. With the strong support and suggestions from the participants, we are confident that BioSoft-2012 in Beijing, China will be more successful than this year.
Background of BioSoft
The 3rd Congress of BioSoft (BioSoft-2011) will be held concurrently with BIT’s 4th World Annual Protein and Peptide Conference . In recent years, BioSoft has grown significantly in both IT and Life Science sectors. It has been widely used in programs for data analysis, graph plotting, statistics, densitometry, dose-effect analysis, assays, curve-fitting, enzyme kinetics, teaching and more. With the rapid development of life sciences, the demand for BioSoft will also increase, making it a very promising industry. We believe that the academic and industrial environments of Beijing, along with its convenient transportation system will allow more scientists, engineers, business leaders and government officials to be involved in BioSoft-2011. Through this conference participants will be able to make new contacts and promote collaborations while also exchanging knowledge about the field of BioSoft. The 1st World Congress of BioSoft was successfully held on June 20, 2009 during the 7th China International Software and Information Service Fair in Dalian, China.
