PepCon2012

BIT's 5th Anniversary Protein and Peptide Conference (PepCon-2012), held in Beijing International Convention Center, Beijing, China from March 23-25, 2012 has gained great success. The theme of the conference was "Powerful Proteins and Peptides". Many Keynote Speakers and a lot of Renowned Speakers from many countries attended this conference.
Many honored guests have made the wonderful presentations at the opening ceremony including: Dr. Matthew He, Director/Full Professor, EAI Academician, Nova Southeastern University, USA; Dr. Samir Hanash, Professor, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, USA; Dr. Marc Wilkins, Professor, University of New South Wales, Australia; Dr. Rolf G. Werner, Professor, Eberhard Karls University of Tuebingen, Germany; Dr. Robert Kaptein, Professor, Utrecht University, the Netherlands.
There were 4 parts following the Opening Ceremony covering topics in fields including: Protein Sciences and Technology, Peptide Chemistry and Biology, Protein Industry, and Protein and Peptide Business and Market. Meanwhile, the 4 parts include 14 chapters. They are Frontier of Protein Sciences, Proteomics and Metaproteomics, Human Diseases and Protein Discovery, Proteins Therapeutics and Clinical Significance, Non-Human Protein R & D, Peptide Science, Peptide Chemistry and Synthetic Methods, Peptides in Drug Discovery, Exploration of Biologically Active Peptides and Applications, Emerging Applications of Peptides, Protein Engineering Technology, Protein Production Instrumentation and Equipment, Protein QC/QA and Analytic Tools and Peptide and Protein CRO, CMO and Customer Services.
At the same time, the Mini-Symposium including 1 Young Scientists Forum is also very successful. After the conference many participants expressed their satisfaction with the content of the congress and had fine memories of Beijing. We believe that the next conference (PepCon 2013) will be even better with the support and constructive suggestions.
